International Children’s Day: Celebrating Children Across the World
Every child enters the world with dreams, curiosity, and potential.
What happens next depends on us.
Children do not choose where they are born. They do not choose whether food is available at home, whether a classroom has books, or whether they have the resources they need to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
As the world observes International Children’s Day, Feed the Children is joining partners, caregivers, educators, and advocates around the world in celebrating the strength, resilience, and promise of children everywhere.

Children’s Day is more than a celebration. It is a reminder of our shared responsibility to ensure every child has the opportunity not only to survive, but to thrive.
“Children’s Day calls us to honor the promise of every child and our shared responsibility to help them thrive,” said Emily Callahan, president and CEO of Feed the Children. “As a global movement working to end childhood hunger, Feed the Children works with partners to expand access to nutritious food and educational resources so more children can grow, learn and build the future they deserve.”
Today, millions of children around the world continue to face barriers to adequate nutrition, quality education, and other resources essential for healthy development. Hunger remains one of the greatest obstacles, affecting children’s ability to learn, concentrate, and reach their full potential.
For many children, access to food is about far more than nutrition. It is about being able to focus in school, participate in activities, and approach each day with confidence and hope.
Feed the Children works alongside communities across the United States and internationally to expand access to food, essentials, educational support, hygiene resources, and opportunities that help children build stronger futures. These efforts are made possible through collaboration with donors, corporate partners, community organizations, educators, volunteers, and families who share a common belief: every child matters.
Children’s Day reminds us that creating opportunities for children is a shared responsibility. Progress happens when communities, organizations, businesses, educators, caregivers, and individuals come together around a common purpose: helping children reach their full potential.
