What Is Giving Tuesday? Here Are 4 Ways To Get Involved This Year!
It’s almost time for our favorite holiday – Giving Tuesday! Every year on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, millions of people around the world observe this day of generosity with acts of kindness.
We’re inviting the Feed the Children family to join us for another exceptional Giving Tuesday! Last year in 2023, our supporters provided over 185,600 meals over the course of the holiday season for those in our country experiencing hunger.
This year, the need is no less urgent. Giving Tuesday falls later than normal, on December 3rd. Despite this, our goal is to bring even more meals to those in need in 2024.
Besides donating, here are some simple ways to participate in Giving Tuesday and spread kindness:
Volunteer. You can sign up to volunteer with Feed the Children here. If you don’t live near a Feed the Children facility, we encourage you to look for volunteer opportunities at your local soup kitchen, food pantry, or other nonprofit.
Make a meal for someone in need. Even people who aren’t food insecure can use help now and then! If you know someone who’s going through a hard time, delivering food can be a much-appreciated act.
Create a Facebook fundraiser. There’s no better way to team up with your friends and family, even long-distance members, to support a cause you care about. It’s a fun, easy way to collaborate and share the holiday spirit! Click here to start.
Embrace the spirit of Giving Tuesday. No matter how you choose to spend your Giving Tuesday, be mindful that your kindness has an impact! The smallest gesture, like holding the door for a stranger or sharing a smile, can brighten someone’s day. And when we commit to kindness, the effects can be life changing.
