Michael Mitchell joins Feed the Children

New VP brings extensive nonprofit knowledge and strategic leadership experience

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 21, 2024) – Feed the Children, a leading nonprofit focused on ending childhood hunger, is continuing its forward momentum into its next generation of growth and development with the addition of Michael Mitchell, who recently joined the organization as Vice President of Advancement.

Through this role Michael will help Feed the Children continue to build awareness of the organization’s valuable role in the Non-Government Organization (NGO) sector as well as continue to provide food and resources for children and their families around the globe.

A passionate advocate for children with almost two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, adoption and foster care, international relief and development, and higher education fundraising, Michael understands the unique challenges and opportunities facing child-serving organizations today. With a passion for mission-driven work Michael is adept at transforming fundraising strategies, managing complex planning, and developing lasting relationships to drive engagement and impact. He is an accomplished leader dedicated to creating a positive change in the world.

As Vice President of Advancement at Feed the Children Michael will be responsible for leading the annual development strategy and execution of the major gift and planned giving fundraising portfolio for Feed the Children, driving increased revenue that supports the mission, brand, global programmatic priorities and strategic plan pillars of Feed the Children. Before joining Feed the Children, he served as Director of Development for the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO), where he provided fundraising training and coaching for executives and development staff at 265 adoption and foster care nonprofits.

Michael earned a Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Business in Marketing from Oklahoma Christian University. He currently resides in Edmond, Oklahoma.

In addition to his vast experience in fundraising and marketing, and organizational development he brings a wealth of experience, leading innovation, strategy, and process improvements that drive growth and impact. Michael is passionate about working with donors and his team to achieve meaningful outcomes. He looks forward to strategically growing the impact of Feed the Children.
