800 Stockton Families to Receive Support from Niagara Bottling, Feed the Children this Holiday Season

Niagara Bottling joined today with leading anti-hunger organization Feed the Children to distribute food, daily essentials and other resources to 800 families at Niagara Bottling’s Stockton plant, 4800 Logistics Dr.

Each pre-identified participating family received a 25-pound box of food including canned vegetables, cereal, peanut butter, mac and cheese and water; a 15-pound box of personal-care essentials such as shampoo, razors, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products and additional products.

With more than 16% of Stockton residents living below the poverty line, price hikes in transportation, food, clothing, housing and energy are stretching the budgets of lower-income families to the breaking point.

“Supporting families and children in our communities is a cause that truly touches our hearts,” said Ann Canela, director of corporate giving and head of Niagara Cares, the company’s charitable arm. “Through our long-standing partnership with Feed the Children, we have been able to provide essential items, including water, to families who are in desperate need. It is a wonderful feeling to know that we are making a difference and supporting such an amazing cause.”

Feed the Children believes it takes everyone – the nonprofit sector, corporations, community organizations, government officials and food suppliers – to come together to do good for those who need it. When efforts are combined, a greater impact is achieved.

“Children cannot thrive unless their basic needs are met,” said Travis Arnold, president and CEO of Feed the Children. “A widespread issue like childhood hunger will only be solved when enough people work together. Partners like Niagara are vital to our mission as we serve vulnerable communities.”

Feed the Children and Niagara Bottling are long-time partners and frequently combine efforts to ensure families have access to clean water. This year, the partners have assisted families across America providing 11.7 million pounds of water to families impacted by water crises like those in East Palestine, Ohio, and Jackson, Miss., as well as those affected by Hurricane Ian, the California wildfires, and other natural disasters.

In total, the organizations have distributed 149 million pounds of this life-saving resource to families and communities around the world during their 15-year partnership.
