Feed the Children Announces Emily Callahan As New President & CEO
Feed the Children is excited to announce Emily Callahan as our new President and CEO, beginning January 2025. She takes on this role from Travis Arnold, who is retiring after eight years in the position.
Callahan joins us at the perfect time, at the start of a new five-year strategic plan to continue to grow and evolve as an organization, and bring food and hope to even more children around the world.
Just like Feed the Children, Callahan is originally from Oklahoma. She and her family will be returning to her home state from Tennessee.
“As a native Oklahoman, it is the honor of a lifetime to return home to join Feed the Children, reconnecting with my community and serving alongside our partners, children and families around the world,” Callahan said. “Together, we can be a powerful movement, raising significant funds and awareness to expand the mission, reach and impact of Feed the Children globally to improve the lives of thousands of children and families who need us most.”
Callahan has over 25 years’ experience working across both the nonprofit and corporate sectors, and most recently served as the chief marketing officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. At ALSAC, her leadership saw an incredible spike in revenue growth and mission awareness for the cause, leading St. Jude to become the Most Trusted Brand in America per Morning Consult.
St. Jude isn’t the only major nonprofit to benefit from Callahan’s leadership. Prior to her work at ALSAC, she was Senior Vice President of Global Marketing & Networks at Susan G. Komen. She also served as the vice chair for the Association of National Advertisers and is a founder and chair of The Memphis Brand, one of the nation’s only place-based branding initiatives.
“Emily brings new perspective to the work of Feed the Children,” said Mike Hogan, chairman of the board for Feed the Children. “Her deep experience in growth and transformation will elevate our impact as we continue to focus on significant hunger issues we have around the world. We’re excited for how she’ll move Feed the Children forward as we celebrate 50 years of impact.”
