What is ‘Put Child Hunger to Bed’?

Feed the Children believes no child should go to bed hungry. Launching this November, Put Child Hunger To Bed is our year-round campaign to rally the public alongside our donors, volunteers, and partners to provide kids with the food and resources that help them rise and thrive every day. Feed the Children will kick off the campaign on November 2nd, when we set the clocks back for Daylight Saving Time, and continue its first push through December 22nd, after the longest night of the year.

Put Child Hunger to Bed is a call to bring warmth, nourishment, and hope to children facing hunger. The need is urgent—many go without food during a season meant for care and connection. Together, we can fill plates and feed dreams.

Prepare to get comfy, go crazy and wear your PJs in public – to work, school, or a notable public place – and put an end to childhood hunger! Every night, millions of children go to bed hungry. This holiday season, we’re raising awareness with the #PJsInPublic Challenge.

Join us by wearing your PJs in an unexpected public place. Record a video or snap a photo. Post on Instagram with #PutChildHungerToBed. Tag @FeedtheChildren. Nominate others to participate within 24 hours. Donate to Feed the Children.

Put Child Hunger to Bed™ is a national cause marketing campaign by Feed the Children. It invites individuals and companies to help ensure no child goes to bed hungry by raising funds and awareness to combat childhood hunger everywhere.

The campaign kicks off on November 2, 2025, when we set the clocks back for Daylight Saving Time, and runs through December 22, 2025, the longest night of the year. However, this campaign is year-round, so you can participate any time. Feed the Children will also have an activation window from Mother’s Day, May 10th through World Hunger Day, May 28th 2026.

Childhood hunger impacts everything from health to academic success. In the U.S., 1 in 5 kids face food insecurity. Globally, undernutrition contributes to 45% of child deaths under age 5. By supporting this campaign, you help children access the nourishment they need to rise and thrive.
