Local Businesses Supporting Local Schools with
Feed the Children’s TEACHER STORE

We believe that education is one of the best ways to help children escape the cycle of poverty. However, per-student funding for education has declined in recent years. In fact, according to recent survey data, the average educator spent $745 of their own money last year — without reimbursement — on school supplies for students who can’t afford them.

To address this problem, Feed the Children’s Teacher Store has offered free school and classroom supplies since 2010 to educators working in some of America’s most challenged school districts. With five locations in Arizona, Indiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, our Teacher Store provides classroom basics like paper, pens, binders, crayons and other materials along with children’s books and snacks to enhance kids’ learning and help them succeed.

In fiscal year 2022, Feed the Children hosted 12,176 teacher visits and provided more than $3.8 million in classroom supplies as well as books valued at more than $5.3 million to benefit an estimated 873,000 students across 234 school districts.

Whether you’re interested in benefits to your organization like community leadership, brand awareness, employee engagement or you just want to make a difference, there are many ways that businesses and community groups can participate:

  • Become a Teacher Store Sponsor. See sponsorship options below
  • Host a School Supply Drive at your location where your customers and/or employees can donate school supplies directly.
  • Consider a point-of-sale round-up or add-on campaign where your products are sold so your customers can contribute at the register.
  • Put your employees to work at a Feed the Children Volunteer Day where they can benefit the community while building team spirit in fun and fulfilling ways.
  • Make a donation directly to Feed the Children’s Teacher Store and help teachers and students in the communities we serve.
