Teleperformance, the global leader in outsourced omnichannel customer experience management, is partnering with The Salvation Army and Feed the Children, to host a community distribution event focused on providing food and essentials to 200 local families at Teleperformance’s Salt Lake City location (1991 S 4650 W) on Wed., Oct. 23, 10 a.m. to noon. This event is in effort to fight childhood hunger and give children the much-needed school supplies for school year success.
With more than 6.5 million children living in food insecure households in the U.S., many do not know where their next meal will come from. The food provided for those attending this community event will help feed children at-risk of missing important daily meals. Each participating family, pre-identified based on need by The Salvation Army, will receive a 25-pound box of food such as canned vegetables, cereal, peanut butter, and mac and cheese; a 15-pound box of essentials like personal-care items such as shampoo, razors, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products; and backpacks containing school supplies such as notebooks, folders, and pencils.
“Teleperformance and Feed the Children have an amazing partnership where we are able to make a difference in our community and others in the U.S.,” said Nick Peltier, Site Director for Teleperformance Salt Lake City. “Together, we are providing children and their families with the nourishment they need for a brighter tomorrow. With continued support from our neighbors around the world, Teleperformance can be an important part of tackling the important issue of childhood hunger.”
This is one of many events Feed the Children has planned with Teleperformance across America to help vulnerable children and families in their local communities. With more than 17 percent of families living below the poverty line in Salt Lake City, many families struggle to put food on the table. It takes all of us working together to provide hope for a brighter future. The organizations are joining forces to fight hunger and make a significant difference in the lives of families who need it the most.
“We believe that no child should go to bed hungry in a land where there is plenty of food,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children president and CEO. “But the reality is, millions of boys and girls, right here in our own backyard, face this hardship every day. Thanks to our generous partner Teleperformance, we are able to help these families rest a little easier knowing they do not have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.”
