Teleperformance, the global leader in outsourced omnichannel customer experience management, is partnering with The United Way and Feed the Children, to host a community distribution event focused on providing food and essentials to 200 local families at Teleperformance’s Augusta location (2807 Wylds Road, Suite A) on Thurs., Oct. 10, 10 a.m. to noon. This event is in effort to fight childhood hunger and give children the much-needed school supplies for school year success.
With more than 6.5 million children living in food insecure households in the U.S., many do not know where their next meal will come from. The food provided for those attending this community event will help feed children at-risk of missing important daily meals. Each participating family, pre-identified based on need by The United Way, will receive a 25-pound box of food such as canned vegetables, cereal, peanut butter, and mac and cheese; a 15-pound box of essentials like personal-care items such as shampoo, razors, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products; and backpacks containing school supplies such as notebooks, folders, and pencils.
“Being a positive force in our local communities is extremely important to Teleperformance,” said Charles Carpenter, Contact Center Manager for Teleperformance’s Augusta location. “I am honored to work for such an amazing company that partners with Feed the Children to help families all over America. Teleperformance has so many kind and caring employees who know that what we do today will affect what happens tomorrow.”
This is one of many events Feed the Children has planned with Teleperformance across America to help vulnerable children and families in their local communities. With more than 24 percent of families living below the poverty line in Augusta, many families struggle to put food on the table. It takes all of us working together to provide hope for a brighter future. The organizations are joining forces to fight hunger and make a significant difference in the lives of families who need it the most.
“Today, we are not only providing food and essentials to these families—but also hope,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children president and CEO. “Hope for a better future that is made possible thanks to our partners at Teleperformance and The United Way, who play a vital role in helping us create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.”
