Teleperformance, the global leader in outsourced omnichannel customer experience management, is partnering with Food Care Center and international nonprofit Feed the Children, to host a community distribution event focused on providing food and essentials to 200 local families at Teleperformance Call Center (777 North Twin Creek Drive) on Wed., June 5, 10 a.m. to noon. This event is in effort to fight childhood hunger in the Killeen community during the summer months.
Since school is ending for many children across the U.S., so do the school meals. The food provided for those attending this community event will help feed children at-risk of missing important daily meals. Each participating family, pre-identified based on need by Food Care Center, received a 25-pound box of food such as canned vegetables, cereal, peanut butter and mac ‘n cheese; a 15-pound box of essentials like personal-care items such as shampoo, razors, toothpaste and feminine hygiene products; and backpacks containing school supplies such as notebooks, folders and pencils.
“I’m delighted to work for a company that does so much to give back through Feed the Children,” said Katie Anderson, Teleperformance Killeen’s Citizen of the World ambassador. “Being born and raised in Killeen, I take great pride in where I’m from. It’s amazing to give back to my community and provide families with much-needed food and essentials. My hope is that everyone who takes part in this event will be inspired to pay it forward.”
This is one of many events Feed the Children has planned with Teleperformance across the America to help vulnerable children and families in their local communities. With more than 13 percent of families living below the poverty line in Killeen, many do not know where their next meal will come from. It takes all of us working together to provide hope for a brighter future. The organizations are joining forces to fight hunger and make a significant difference in the lives of families who need it the most.
“Today, we are not only providing food and necessities to Killeen families—but also hope,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children president and CEO. “Hope for a better future that is made possible thanks to our partners at Teleperformance and Food Care Center who play a vital role in helping us create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.”
