Just Born Quality Confections, the makers of PEEPS® and MIKE AND IKE® candies, will be joining forces with Feed the Children, a leading nonprofit focused on alleviating childhood hunger, to deliver clothing and school supplies to children across the U.S. as part of the nonprofit’s annual No Hunger Holidays campaign. Throughout the holiday season, the organizations will distribute school supplies and $200,000 worth of apparel at community events, including a variety of children’s clothing such as sweatshirts and pajamas, to provide warmth for children experiencing food insecurity.

Feed the Children’s No Hunger Holidays campaign delivers shelf-stable food, essential household items, books and toys to ease parents’ budgets so they can provide food for their kids and keep the holidays merry and bright. At each community event, families receive a 25-pound box of shelf-stable food; a 15-pound box of much-needed personal-care items (such as shampoo, lotion, laundry detergent); as well as additional items like books, school supplies, toys and clothing.

“Just Born Quality Confections is committed to bringing sweetness to people’s lives,” said Meg Dowd, Corporate Affairs Manager for Just Born Quality Confections. “For many years, we’ve been proud to partner with Feed the Children to help end childhood hunger. It’s especially sweet to work with them on their No Hunger Holidays campaign.”

With all of this past year’s challenges, we are reminded that it feels good to give. For families who struggle, the holidays can be heartbreaking. Tight household budgets due to high home heating bills and other seasonal expenses mean that many families will not be able to celebrate with presents for their kids or warm clothing.

“It is only through partnership that we can reach at-risk families this holiday season,” said Travis Arnold, president and CEO of Feed the Children. “Through our partnership with Just Born Quality Confections, we can support America’s most vulnerable during these difficult times, providing much-needed school supplies and essential clothing. No child should go without during a season of warmth. Now is the time to come together to serve the children and families who need us most.”
