John Clendening has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Feed the Children, a leading nonprofit organization focused on alleviating childhood hunger. With an extensive background in financial services technology and service as a wealth management executive, Clendening will apply his expertise to his new role at the global nonprofit.
Clendening is currently on the board of Silicon Valley Financial Group (NASDAQ: SIVB). Additionally, he is engaged as a consultant focused on financial services, wealth management and digital innovation. He recently served as president and CEO of Blucora, Inc., a provider of data and technology-driven tax software and wealth management solutions. Previously, he worked at Charles Schwab Corporation as EVP/Co-Leader of its Retail Business Unit, EVP of Shared Strategic Services, and CEO of Charles Schwab Bank.

Throughout his distinguished career, Clendening has been a trusted partner of a variety of boards and executive leadership teams. He’s served on multiple Board of Directors, such as: Silicon Valley Bank Financial Group, Blucora, Inc., Betterment, and Charles Schwab Bank. With a proven ability to deliver strategic clarity, he also understands and applies best-in-class governance.
Feed the Children’s board has been steadily expanding throughout the past few years. With each new board member, the organization has taken the opportunity to be strategic in its selection as it strives to gain an even deeper bench of business expertise.
