Feed the Children, Nature Made® and Happy Valley Baptist Church are continuing their efforts to feed and assist 400 families in need in the Lanett, Alabama community. The families will gather at Happy Valley Baptist Church, 1623 49th Ave., Saturday, March 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Central Time.

The families have been pre-identified based on need by Happy Valley Baptist Church. Each participating family will receive a two-year supply of Nature Made children’s multivitamins for each child; a 25-pound box of shelf-stable food such as canned vegetables; peanut butter and mac ‘n cheese; a 15-pound box of essentials including items such as shampoo, body wash and additional personal care items; and Disney books. The provided food and essentials will help families in need of basic supplies most people take for granted.

During the distribution event, families will enjoy a community partner fair where they can receive additional information about health, nutrition, education and employment resources and support in their area. Through these collaborative efforts, the organizations will provide a holistic health and wellness experience by providing long-term support to some of the country’s most vulnerable citizens.

In the Lanett area alone, more than 22 percent of the population live below the poverty line. Often, these children and families are unsure of where they will find their next meal.

“Nature Made is proud to continue its partnership with Feed the Children to provide access to children’s vitamins that help support good nutrition from a young age,” said Alan McNamara, Divisional Vice President of Communications for Nature Made. “Nature Made has deep roots in Alabama and is committed to helping children and families in need in this strong, close-knit community.”
“We recognize hunger can’t be fought alone, but by working together, we can provide food and essentials to millions of children and families who live in poverty,” said Travis Arnold, president and chief executive officer of Feed the Children. “Hope for a better future is made possible thanks to our partners at Nature Made.”

The event is part of a three-year partnership between Nature Made, a leading national vitamin and supplement brand, and Feed the Children. The organizations are joining forces to fight hunger and make a significant difference in the lives of American families.

About Feed the Children

At Feed the Children, we feed hungry kids. We envision a world where no child goes to bed hungry. In the U.S. and internationally, we are dedicated to helping families and communities achieve stable lives and to reducing the need for help tomorrow, while providing food and resources to help them today. We distribute product donations from corporate donors to local community partners, we provide support for teachers and students, and we mobilize resources quickly to aid recovery efforts when natural disasters strike. Internationally, we manage child-focused community development programs in 10 countries. We welcome partnerships because we know our work would not be possible without collaborative relationships.
