Feed the Children, a leading international nonprofit focused on alleviating childhood hunger, has partnered with Teleperformance to provide food, beverages and personal hygiene items to families affected by the recent Kentucky floods. Their partnership is an effort to alleviate the burden many families are facing as they rebuild.

Kentucky was one of several states that endured heavy rainfall and severe flooding during late July, causing widespread destruction in one of the nation’s poorest regions. After more than a foot of torrential rain fell in several counties, many families were left with damaged or destroyed homes. With the lack of clean water and electricity available for families, help is needed now. In response, Feed the Children is working with local community partners such as the Christian Appalachian Project and Operation Compassion to serve families in the surrounding areas of Henderson, Bulan, Vicco, Neon, Whitesburg and Richmond, Ky.

Teleperformance provided support for a community distribution event with local nonprofit, 4 Good Community, to distribute boxes of food, assorted personal hygiene items and clothes to help 400 families in Hazard, Ky. The organization provided further support by sponsoring an additional truckload of assorted product to be delivered to the community.

“Teleperformance is always ready to help. We understand the needs of those affected by the flooding and we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Feed the Children making sure we can support them during this tragic time,” said Amber Gregory, CSR Coordinator. “We are also proud to have employees who support this partnership and generously donate through their payroll contributions, truly inspiring and empowering other to make a difference. We believe that by all of us working together, we can recover and rebuild.”

Teleperformance is a long-time partner of Feed the Children, supporting various initiatives such as education and disaster response. Teleperformance’s generosity has played a significant part in how Feed the Children fights childhood hunger and poverty today, going above and beyond just the need for food.

“It is only through partnership and the generosity of our donors that we can respond to disasters and reach families affected by tragedy,” said Travis Arnold, president and CEO of Feed the Children. “Through our work with Teleperformance and our community partners on the ground, we can support America’s most vulnerable during this difficult time by providing them with food and vital resources.”

Disasters such as the flooding in Kentucky are devastating and can be an emotional time for families as they begin to pick up the pieces. With help from community and corporate partners as well as generous donors, Feed the Children is equipped to support families affected by the historic floods. Other partners such as Refresco North America, Amplify Snacks and Frito-Lay have donated product to support the nonprofit’s disaster response efforts.
