Fazoli’s, America’s largest premium QSR Italian chain, is partnering with Feed the Children, Brown Foodservice, Hope Center and other local businesses to bring No Hunger Holidays to 200 Lexington families during the season of giving. The event will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at George Privett Center, located at 250 W. Loudon Avenue.
Each family will receive dinner from the Fazoli’s team as well as have an opportunity to visit with Santa, super heroes and Disney characters. There will be face painters and a photo booth onsite to make the event even more magical. Before they leave for the evening, each family will receive a 25-pound box of food; a 15-pound box of essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion and personal care items; and a box of Avon products. In addition, to help ensure the families have a holiday meal, Brown Foodservice will be providing hams, turkeys and side dishes. Each child will also receive Disney storybooks as a special holiday gift from Fazoli’s.
“Fazoli’s has been a part of the Lexington community for more than 30 years,” said Fazoli’s CEO Carl Howard. “We’re excited to celebrate the holiday season by coming together with other local businesses and organizations to truly make a difference in the lives of these families, one breadstick at a time. We look forward to working with each organization to bring Lexington families together and make this an evening to remember.”
The No Hunger Holidays campaign helps children and families during the holidays, as well as bring awareness to the important issue of childhood hunger. With more than 18% of Lexington residents living below the poverty line, holidays can be a stressful time for families. It can be especially difficult once school is out for the holidays, leaving children food insecure - without a source for consistent meals.
“We are honored to be a part of such a giving event and to partner with another Kentucky-based company like Fazoli’s,” said Daniel Neeley, Chief Experience Officer of Brown Foodservice. “This is such a great cause and we are excited to help the Feed the Children in their mission to bring hope and resources to those that need it this holiday season.”
“We believe that no child should go to bed hungry, especially during a time full of warmth, love and sharing,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children president and CEO. “But the reality is, millions of children face this hardship every day. Thanks to our generous partners at Fazoli’s, we are able to help these families rest a little easier knowing they don’t have to worry about where their next meal is coming from this holiday season.”
Since 2012, Fazoli’s and Feed the Children have partnered to assist more than 8,800 families providing 75,500 pounds of food and essentials.
