Delivering Food, Water and Love

People who know and love Ellando call him “tireless.” The teen boy is a hard worker who will do anything for his family. He helps his father with farming and carpentry, and for years, he walked great distances to fetch his family’s water.

Adequate food and water were hard to come by in his village in Haiti. The lack of roads made traveling difficult.

But then people like you — and their generosity — made a difference. Feed the Children programs were created to bring food, water and other resources to children and families in the community, like Ellando’s.

Donations from across the globe helped power the construction of eight water fountains to bring access to clean water to 14,000 people.

And that’s not all. A program called Care Groups, made up of community members, has implemented activities that teach families about health, hygiene and nutrition. They also support a feeding program in the school.

Ellando got to help his community too, which brought him great joy. He helped the teams plant fruit trees for his neighbors to enjoy.

Today, it’s clear to see how the power of many people working together can make a meaningful difference. The children in Ellando’s community are healthier and have high hopes for their futures. That goes for Ellando too! He’s very thankful and hopes to study science and become a soil expert.
