1 in 8 U.S. children is living in a food insecure household, and we believe in a world where no child must wonder where their next meal will come from. We help provide food for these children and their families and support impoverished communities across the country. Providing families with food helps meet their needs, both short-term and long-term, helping them to improve their overall standard of living.
As a leading hunger relief organization, we find ways to support food-insecure kids with food and essential resources. While food is crucial, it's not the only thing families need to make ends meet. Feed the Children also provides essential items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and cleaning products.
We have five distribution centers in the U.S., which helps us deliver resources to communities in both cities and rural areas. We focus on providing help to areas with the most need and helping families thrive.
Our mission is to eliminate childhood food insecurity and hunger domestically and globally.

Summers can be especially difficult for hungry children and their families. Nearly 30 million students in America receive free or reduced-price meals during the school year. But when class is out, millions of these kids go hungry. Research shows that summer hunger and food insecurity can cause physical and mental health problems, leading to poor educational performance when kids return to the classroom.
An estimated nine million children in the U.S. will struggle with food insecurity during the back-to-school season. Families facing food insecurity are now finding it even harder to cope. Food costs at the grocery store continue to rise.
Our School Resource Rooms provide students with healthy snacks and household items. Teachers also receive free supplies and classroom necessities, including healthy snacks for students.
The holidays should be a time of joy and celebration. But for many families living with food insecurity and poverty, the holidays are a time of stress and hunger. Heating bills and other weather-related expenses make it difficult to afford enough food. Children may also feel left out of holiday celebrations. That’s why Feed the Children helps deliver food, essential items and books and toys during the holiday season – hoping to spread a little joy during a difficult time.
