How to Fill a Holiday Shoe Box
Filling a holiday shoe box with gifts is a fun way to help children in need, whether you are doing it by yourself or with a group. Send the filled boxes to Feed The Children's main offices for distribution nationwide.
Find an empty shoe box
If you want, wrap the box lid separately to make it more festive. After you have filled the box, attach the lid using twine or large rubber bands.
Download and print a label
Click here to download and print a label for the box. Be sure to attach the label that is gender appropriate and check the age range.
Fill your shoe box with gifts
Suggested items to include:
- Toys: balls, stuffed animals, plastic tumbler cups, yo-yos, silly putty, books, games puzzles, flashlights, plastic figurines, dolls and accessories, toy cars, dress up accessories, plastic kazoos, etc.
- School Supplies: pencils, sharpeners, erasers, crayons, markers, paper, glue sticks, coloring books, writing tablets, etc.
- Hygiene Items: shampoo, toothbrushes and paste, soap, washcloths, combs, socks, etc.
- Donations: if you would like to help offset the cost of transporting your holiday box to children in need across the U.S., please enclose a donation of $5 with your box. Simply enclose the donation on the top of the contents in your box.
Please DO NOT include the following items
- Used items
- Candy, gum or food
- War-related items (toy guns, knives, toy soldiers, etc.)
- Medicines (cough drops, vitamins, etc.)
- Breakable items (mirrors, fragile toys, etc.)
Assemble and send
Attach the lid to the box using twine or large rubber bands. Send completed boxes to the following address:
