Food & Nutrition

Children cannot learn well if they are hungry. Through school feedings, children are given the nutrition they need in order to thrive physically and mentally. Feed The Children - Kenya serves children in 167 schools each school day thanks to a partnership with the WFP (World Food Programme). All food handlers at the schools have been educated on hygiene for food storage and preparation.

Water & Sanitation

Kenya has built water pans/rainwater-harvesting systems in drought-stricken areas to sustain life for people, their livestock, and crops. The water can last the community up to approximately six to seven months after the rains. There are 52,000 pupils in 64 schools who benefit from water and sanitation support given by Feed The Children - Kenya.

Health & Education

Kenya strives to ensure that every child served is included in this program. This includes teacher subsidies, scholarships, uniforms/shoes, backpacks, books, and other items when available. Residential care for infants and abandoned children, many of whom are disabled, is provided at the Abandoned Centre for Babies and Children and the Dagoretti Children’s Center.
