Uganda
HISTORY
Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa. Uganda is bordered on the east by Kenya, on the north by South Sudan, on the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the southwest by Rwanda, and on the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, which is also shared by Kenya and Tanzania. The capital is Kampala and the population in 2011 was reported as 34.5 Million. Feed The Children - Uganda is currently establishing its programs in the northern part of Uganda. As always, the most critical and pivotal part of Feed The Children’s programming starts with feeding the children. Once the feeding distributions and centers are firmly established, Feed The Children - Uganda will begin implementation of its other core relief programs: Health and Education; Water & Sanitation; and Livelihood Development.
