Feed The Children isthe 9th largest international charity in the U.S. andhas more than 25 years of experiencehelpingchildren and families in need, including providingrelief when disaster strikes. The generous donations made online allow Feed The Children to deliver relief supplies to the areas hardest hit by disaster, and aretax deductible as allowed by law.
Oklahoma City, Okla. International relief organization Feed The Children is sending more than 50,000 pounds of food, water and disaster relief supplies to help victims of the recent earthquake in the Indian Ocean and the devastating tsunami that followed. Feed The Children is communicating with contacts in several of the countries that were hit this weekend and working with other relief organizations to assess the need and find an undamaged port to receive the supplies as soon as possible.
More than 135,000 are dead, and millions are hurt or left in need due to Sunday’s earthquake and tsunami. Because of the size and scope of the destruction caused by these natural disasters, as well as the lack of an international warning system in several of the countries hit, the need will be tremendous.
“With 25 years of disaster relief experience, Feed The Children knows how best to respond and provide help to those most in need,” said Larry Jones, president and founder of Feed The Children. “That is exactly what we are doing now for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami. And we will continue to help for as long as the need exists.”
The fastest way to help Feed The Children in reaching out to the tsunami victims is to give online to the disaster relief efforts.
