CROCS PARTNERS WITH FEED THE CHILDREN TO HELP FLORIDA CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AT

400 Families to Receive Food, and Essentials. Crocs Shoes giving 500 pairs of shoes.

LEESBURG, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2011) ― Crocs, Inc. and Feed The Children are coming together to support Shaq-A-Clause Apalooza and help 400 families in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Lake and Sumter County and Jakks Cares. On Thursday Dec. 8 at 6 p.m., Feed The Children will distribute a truck load of food and essentials to children and their families at The Fathers House (2301 South Street).  Each family will receive a box of non-perishable food, a box of essentials and a box of Avon products to pre-selected families in need. Crocs is also supporting the community by providing 500 pairs of shoes.  Shaq will attend the distribution.

This distribution is sponsored by long-time Feed The Children partner Crocs.  Since 2007, when they began supplying to refugee children in Darfur and Chad, Crocs has provided Feed The Children with more than 1.6 million pairs of shoes donated worth more than $24 million dollars. They were also instrumental in providing relief in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, and in the past year, they provided assistance to help victims of tornadoes in Alabama and Joplin, Missouri. In addition to product, Crocs has also donated funds for the Americans Feeding Americans Caravan.

Shaq, who is a Boys & Girls Club alumnus, has established a long tradition of helping those in need. Well over 400 families from the community are expected to attend.

The event is part of Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 310,000 families across the country since its inception.

More than one in four children living in Leesburg (27.2 percent) is considered impoverished.  The number of impoverished children in Florida (923,963) could fill the Amway Center 46 times.

"We sincerely appreciate Crocs, Shaquille O’Neal and The Boys and Girls Club of Lake and Sumter Country for making this distribution possible for families in need,” said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children. "Many of the recipients on our Americans Feeding Americans Caravan are feeling the economic crunch this holiday season and would otherwise not have food on their table.”,
