CHURCH IN THE SON AND FEED THE CHILDREN SHINE A LIGHT ON HUNGER IN ORLANDO
400 FAMILIES TO RECEIVE FOOD AND ESSENTIALS
ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2011) – On Saturday, Nov. 12, Feed The Children will deliver a semi tractor-trailer full of food and essentials to Church In The Son at 4484 N. John Young Parkway. The food and essentials will be distributed to families beginning at 11 a.m.
This distribution is sponsored by Church In The Son. They have also identified the recipient families. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items. The boxes are designed to help a family of four, for up to one week.
Orlando has a 22.3 percent child poverty rate. In fact, the number of children living in poverty in Florida could fill (742,023) the Amway Center more than 37 times.
“We are so thankful to Church In The Son for helping to provide the food and essentials to students and their families,” said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children. "We hope more people will respond to help us put more trucks on the road and provide assistance for fellow Americans who are suffering through the current economic downturn.”
