Feed The Children Distributing Relief, Collecting Supplies for Moore Tornado Victims
Three locations accepting donations in the metro area
OKLAHOMA CITY (May 23, 2013) Feed The Children, the largest nonprofit in the state of Oklahoma, is making three more deliveries of relief supplies on Thursday to tornado victims in Moore, Little Axe and Carney.
For the second day in a row, supplies are being delivered to Hope Adventist Fellowship, NE 12th and Moore. Items supplied include oatmeal, baby formula, canned goods, wipes and work gloves. The delivery is scheduled to take place mid-morning.
Supplies to Carney are scheduled to be delivered around 11 am, pending weather delays. The shipment includes towels, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, food boxes, personal care boxes and wipes. Family Outreach Center will coordinate distribution at the First Assembly of God, 306 E. Maple in Carney.
The delivery to Little Axe is scheduled for 3 p.m. at 192nd St. and Highway 9 and is being coordinated with the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. Several cases of Lasagna, food boxes, sports drinks, chain saws and cleaning supplies.
More deliveries are being scheduled for Friday and the weekend. Feed The Children has also provided assistance to Shawnee storm victims through the Shawnee Rescue Mission.
Beginning Saturday, May 25, the only locations accepting donations will be:
- the McCormick Distribution Center, 29 N. McCormick in Oklahoma City
- First Baptist Church, 1201 N. Robinson in Oklahoma City
- Cornerstone Church, 9900 SE 15th Street in Midwest City
