Corporation and Nonprofits Band Together to Help 400 Families
GRINDSTONE, Penn., – Teleperformance and Feed the Children are lending a hand to 400 Grindstone-area families with food and essentials on Friday, Aug. 29. Families will take home enough food and essentials boxes to fill a tractor-trailer at Teleperformance U.S.A. (111 Roberts Road) at 10:00 a.m.
Teleperformance and its employees are longtime supporters of Feed the Children. The event is sponsored by Teleperformance employees who will be onsite to help distribute the boxes.
The event is one of many that Teleperformance and Feed the Children have planned across the country, ensuring that instead of worrying about having enough to eat, thousands of kids can just be kids this summer. The organization’s fleet of 40 semis carries meals and household necessities all over the United States on the Americans Feeding Americans caravan.
Because hunger can’t be tackled alone, Feed the Children’s partner agency Fayette County Community Action Agency has pre-identified families in need who will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of basic essentials.
“On behalf of Teleperformance, volunteers and those we help and serve in our communities and around the globe, I wanted to say that we are very grateful to be working with a great charitable partner, such as Feed the Children,” said Kerry Black, Regional Human Resources Manager for Teleperformance, U.S.A. “It is through collaborations of foundations, businesses and individuals like you that we are able to make a difference not only in our own communities, but around the globe.”
Hunger’s roots go deep and it hurts kids every day, in every state in the United States. In fact, one in eight (12.3 percent) Pennsylvania households face hunger.
“We believe in a world where no child goes to bed hungry– a world in which kids grow up wide-eyed, curious, playful, eager to learn, strong, joyful, and full of dreams,” said Kevin Hagan, Feed the Children president and CEO. “Teleperformance employees are doing so much more than giving food and essentials. They are helping kids be kids.”
