Newsboys and Feed the Children Take to the Road to Defeat Childhood Hunger in America

‘We Believe’ Tour Crosses the Nation to Help Kids be Kids

MEMPHIS, Tenn, – Feed the Children, one of the world’s leading anti-hunger organizations, and four-time GRAMMY-nominated band Newsboys both believe no child should go to bed hungry, especially in America. When the Newsboys hit the road for the We Believe Tour, which kicks off on Sept. 18 in Memphis, Tenn., the band will aim to defeat hunger for thousands of kids along the way.

The Newsboys are especially connected to the cause through their own experiences. The band’s lead vocalist Michael Tait has faced his own struggles with poverty growing up in Washington, D.C where currently one in three children faces hunger.

“Hunger isn’t a long distance problem. Hunger exists right here in America. I know because I have experienced it for myself,” said Tait. “That is why Feed the Children’s programs here in our country are so near and dear to my heart.”

Feed the Children works in the United States and around the world to create a world where no child goes to bed hungry distributing more than $344 million worth of food, essentials, education supplies, and medicine to more than 10 million individuals last year alone. Through Feed the Children’s child sponsorship program, Newsboys fans will be able to make a lasting change in the lives of children right here in the United States.

Working together, the Newsboys and Feed the Children want to take hunger out of the news for more than 17 million food insecure children in our country by collaborating with an extensive network of partner agencies, corporate donors, and like-minded individuals. The groups are aiming to help thousands by the end of the tour.

“While it is unacceptable for any child to go to bed hungry, this is especially true in the United States,” said Kevin Hagan, Feed the Children president and CEO. “The Newsboys have helped so many individuals around the world. Together, we want to help more kids be kids right here at home.”

The We Believe Tour wraps on Nov. 16 in Youngstown, OH. For more information on the tour and the Newsboys, visit
